2 MAY 2016 – PROGRESS OF ENTERPRISE BARGAINING

Dear Colleagues

I wanted to update you on how enterprise bargaining is progressing.

TAFE and the unions have been working cooperatively to develop a new classification structure since mid-2014. On Friday, we reviewed the work completed so far and we believe that we are close to reaching agreement on a new classification structure for Administrative, Support and Related Employees that meets the needs of TAFE NSW and supports a fair transition into the structure. The structure would form the core of a new enterprise agreement.

There remain a number of matters that continue to be negotiated, but the parties are committed to working together to refine and finalise the details. Steady progress has also been made on the conditions over the last few months and there is in principle agreement on the consolidation of allowances.

What will happen next?

TAFE and the unions have agreed on a further meeting to work through the remaining conditions and issues.
