24 June 2016 – Email announcing the ballot result
I am very pleased to let you know that the ballot for the TAFE Commission of NSW Administrative, Support and Related Employees Enterprise Agreement 2016 was successfully supported by the majority of employees who participated in the vote.
The results were:
- 84% voted yes
- 16% voted no
- 63% of employees participated in the vote.
This 'Yes' vote result will mean:
- A 2.5% pay rise will be paid effective from 1 July 2016, once the new Enterprise Agreement has been approved by the Fair Work Commission, which we expect will take approximately 8 weeks
- A consistent set of working conditions for all staff, including 35 hour working week from 1 January 2017
- A fair transition to a new classification structure.
I want to thank everyone for getting involved, asking questions and providing valuable feedback about the proposal throughout the bargaining process. This result reflects your strong commitment to TAFE NSW and our future.
I also wish to acknowledge the dedication and commitment of the TAFE NSW Enterprise Bargaining Team and the many Institute teams who supported TAFE NSW's commitment to a constructive and transparent bargaining process.
The Enterprise Agreement will now be signed by the parties and lodged with the Fair Work Commission for approval as soon as possible, and as outlined above the first 2.5% salary increase will be payable from 1 July 2016.
The new classification structure will be implemented from 1 January 2017, until then the current conditions, allowances and Flexible Working Hours Agreement will still apply. The implementation team will keep you updated throughout the process and ensure everything runs smoothly.
