8 February 2016 – EMAIL ABOUT EB SESSION 13

Dear Colleagues

On 28 January 2016, the TAFE NSW Bargaining Team met with the unions to further negotiate the Administrative, Support and Related Employees Enterprise Agreement.

Progress is being made over a number of areas and we believe the negotiations are positive and that we are moving towards agreement with the union and employee representatives. TAFE NSW appreciates the patience of all staff covered by this agreement whilst these important negotiations take place. It is in everyone's interest to complete the negotiations in a timely manner.

What was discussed?

We discussed:

  • Allowances: TAFE NSW and the unions have been in discussion over certain allowances and their relevance in the Contemporary Classification Structure
  • Dispute Settlement Clause and Consultation Clause: The unions have sought to change the current clauses however TAFE NSW believes that the current clauses are appropriate
  • Part-Year employment: TAFE NSW and the unions have been in discussion about the inclusion of part-year employment. TAFE NSW is very interested in the prospect of providing greater continuity of employment for some employees.

What will happen next?

At the next meeting on 12 February 2016 we will be discussing:

  • Work Level Standards (finalisation)
  • Salary Spine
  • Part-Year Employment
