TAFE NSW scoops 2010 Training Awards

Last night at a gala presentation for the NSW Training Awards, TAFE NSW staff and students won 10 prestigious awards.

The Minister for Education and Training, The Hon Verity Firth MP, announced the winners at a glittering event at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The annual NSW Training Awards celebrate excellence in vocational education and training and 2010 marked the 55th year of these awards.

TAFE NSW was highly recognised for its exceptional standards and scooped the majority of awards.

Apprentice of the Year Garreth Robbs, TAFE NSW – Hunter Institute
School Based Apprentice of the Year Alex Jones, TAFE NSW – North Coast Institute
VET in Schools Student of the Year Bethany Hahesy, TAFE NSW – Sydney Institute
Vocational Student of the Year Heidi Scher, TAFE NSW – Northern Sydney Institute
Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year Russell Freeburn, TAFE NSW – North Coast Institute
