Age of reason

While TAFE NSW's student body is mostly comprised of younger age groups, there's always the exception that proves the rule.

Introducing Agnes Richardson, 91-year-old social media aficionado and grandmother, who has just graduated from TAFE New England's Tamworth Campus with her Certificate II in Interactive Digital Media and Technology.

Staying in touch with her grandchildren via social media was the principal reason Agnes gave for enrolling in the course, which she hoped would improve her Social Media skills.

"Agnes is proof that you're never too old to study at TAFE New England," her teacher, Max Collins, told the Northern Daily Leader. "She enjoys keeping up-to-date with technology and the classroom environment each week and her interaction with students who are 70 years younger than her is nothing short of amazing."

Agnes is planning to continue her TAFE studies and has enrolled in the Certificate III in Interactive Digital Media and Technology.
