Fashion Designer Kaya May Dwyer who studied at Wollongbar TAFE has landed her dream job designing costumes for a Hollywood movie.

During her internship Kaya worked with well-known costume designer Jim Lonidies in Surfers Paradise.

Her outstanding work prompted Jim to invite Kaya to create costumes for a film shoot at Movie World on the Gold Coast.

"It's very hush-hush," Kyah told Lismore's Northern Star. "I can't say what the movie is ... (but) it is amazing, really exciting."

Kyah believes Wollongbar TAFE has been instrumental in making her dreams come true.

"I didn't realise the facility was so good," she said. "A lot of people don't realise it is here. It is perhaps the only regional school offering a course like it. That makes it pretty special."
