Experience the food and wine stars of the future at Sydney Cellar Door

TAFE NSW will feature with leading metropolitan and regional restaurants and wineries at the Sydney Cellar Door in Hyde Park, on the last weekend in February. Sydneysiders will have the unique opportunity to sample the wares of the future stars of the wine and food industry.

Sydney TAFE will host a restaurant which will sell a delectable range of dishes and Hunter TAFE will set up a nearby wine stall selling a beautiful variety of wines to complement each menu item.

Over 50 students and 25 staff from hospitality, cookery and event management will be involved and the public will see a very high standard of food presentation, food quality and service delivery.

Sydney TAFE's restaurant stall's menu includes a middle-eastern chicken tabouli and flat bread plate, sweet corn quesadillas and Eton Mess summer dessert. They can be matched with a red, white or sparkling wine from Hunter TAFE's Intuition Wines, which will be sold by the glass for consumption at the event and by the bottle for takeaway.

TAFE NSW can proudly boast that some of the best Chefs in Australia are all graduates. Ed Halmagyi, Matt Moran, Giovanni Pilu and Tom Walton are just some of the successful chefs who all began their careers with TAFE NSW.

The Sydney Cellar Door event is a part of the NSW Good Food and Wine festival. Last year's event attracted nearly 80,000 visitors who sampled regional food and wine and soaked up the ambience of what is essentially a large family picnic
