A group of screen and media students from Bathurst TAFE are having their work showcased at Metro Cinemas.

The free public screening, which will take place on Wednesday 7 December, has been made possible through collaboration between TAFE media teacher Simon Fraser and the local Metro Cinemas.

"Our students have been working very hard over the year to create some outstanding work and Metro Cinemas have been very supportive in allowing them to shine on the silver screen," Mr Fraser told theĀ Western Advocate.

Needless to say, the students themselves are also pretty excited about the opportunity for their work to find an appreciative audience, even just for one night.

"Seeing our films on the big screen is an awesome experience," said screen and media student Arwa Merchant. "We have been looking forward to this all year and we hope everyone can come along and support us."

The students have been studying a range of screen and media disciplines including film-making, camera, editing, photography, writing and animation. As well as their work being enjoyed by a live audience, the students and their teachers also hope the screening will show potential students the wide range of skills that can be learnt at Bathurst TAFE.
