Presented in association with the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS), the Challenge involves Landscape Construction students from three different TAFE NSW Institutes pitting their creative and construction skills against each other to create the most inspiring garden design.
Landscaping-Easter-ShowNow in its sixth year, the Challenge takes place at the RAS' Royal Easter Show in Sydney Olympic Park where thousands of show-goers will have the opportunity to inspect and admire the three competing landscape designs and vote for their favourite in the 'People's Choice' category.
This year, the three participating Institutes are Illawarra, represented by Yallah Campus, South Western Sydney Institute (SWSi), represented by Padstow College and Western Sydney Institute (WSI), represented by Richmond College.
So, what kind of designs can we expect to see with the theme of 'Modern Australian Backyard'? A concrete emu or two (ala Kath and Kim)? A majestic hills hoist with some clean socks and jocks flapping in the wind? A lone lemon tree, standing quiet and dignified in the corner? Watch this space and find out. The fun starts on Thursday 17 March when the Show opens to the public.
