Starting May 1, 2017 a Certificate IV in Ageing Support will be offered at Moss Vale TAFE NSW.

The Cert IV will be in conjunction with the University of Wollongong Pathway Program.

Students will also have access to a free bridging subject delivered by UOW Southern Highlands.

The new certification comes out of a council meeting which was held to discuss the need for more training opportunities in one of the shire's biggest employment areas, aged care. 

Stephen Lowe, UOW Southern Highlands campus manager, led the forum which was attended by experts and employers in the sector.

"It is clear from the discussions there is support from providers for more education and training programs to be delivered," Lowe told the Southern Highland News.

An information session about the new course including sponsorship opportunities will be held on April 26 from 12.30pm at the UOW Southern Highlands campus.
