On top of the world

That's how western Sydney apprentices Brendan Nupier and Ben Adams are both feeling about their gig at Barangaroo. Literally and figuratively.

Working 50 storeys above street level, the men are gaining valuable experience that will hold them in good stead for their future careers. Learning on the job at Western Sydney TAFE's "pop up" college at the Barangaroo development site, Brendan and Ben are among 330 apprentices from across Sydney's western suburbs who are gaining world class experience that will make them extremely employable.

"A lot of the apprentices and workers here are getting exposure to the very latest technologies and innovative techniques," said Ron Wright, Barangaroo Skills Exchange Manager. "Those skills will hopefully place them in high demand for large-scale infrastructure projects in the west, such as Badgerys Creek airport."
