Carl Tinsley, Teacher Automotive Repair & Refinishing, Manufacturing & Transport at SWSI has received a National Collision Repairer Lifetime Achievement Award.
Tinsley and over 200 other industry participants were present at a breakfast held in conjunction with the Collision Repair Expo at Crown in Melbourne on Friday 7th April.
Carl has always had a passion for ongoing professional development which was initially filled by completing evening courses at TAFE NSW then to becoming a "part time" TAFE NSW teacher at Mt Druitt College then at Granville and eventually full-time teaching at TAFE NSW Campbelltown.
This passion has led to the main reason for this nomination as Carl extended this to encouraging excellence from his students not only at TAFE NSW but encouraging them to enter both colour matching competitions and WorldSkills.
Carl has been instrumental in promoting outstanding performance from young Australians by being instrumental in the foundation of the Future Leaders Awards which showcases and rewards their achievements. Not only was Carl instrumental in the development of the awards but has nominated many young people for them.
