Car painting, cooking masterclasses and organic produce tours are all
on offer at TAFE NSW this week as 130 campuses throw open their doors
to potential students.
Assistant Minister for Skills Adam Marshall said TAFE NSW Open Week,
from 19 to 24 June, is a great opportunity for anyone considering
their study options to experience TAFE's innovative approach to
vocational education and training.
"TAFE NSW Open Week will highlight the extensive facilities,
course offerings, employer partnerships, world-class training and
technology available at TAFE across the state," Mr Marshall said.
"Potential students will be able to get one-on-one course
advice, and meet teachers and past graduates from local TAFE NSW
campuses to discuss their career paths.
"The first state-wide TAFE NSW Open Week, held in January,
attracted more than 10,000 attendees with a further 26,000 people
watching online via Facebook Live events.
"There is clearly a strong interest in vocational education and
training in this state and Open Week is a great showcase of how the
NSW Government is enabling TAFE NSW to build on its competitive
strengths and provide relevant and accessible training for students
across rural and regional NSW, as well as in Sydney."
Highlights during Open Week across the TAFE NSW campuses include
ceramics at Gymea, a mushroom tour at Riverina, gourmet cooking for
two in 10 minutes at Tamworth, a car painting demonstration at
Glendale and a lesson on how to get a truly close shave from the
barbering teachers at Wollongbar West.
