TAFE NSW Lidcombe student wins Vocational Student of the Year

TAFE NSW Lidcombe student Linda Park has been awarded Vocational Student of the Year at the prestigious Western Sydney & Blue Mountains Regional Training Awards Presentation Event at Bankwest Stadium on Friday night.

TAFE NSW students claimed two of the six awards on offer at the Training Services NSW event, including Patrick Brassell who won the Apprentice of the Year award.

Linda Park said, “I am so honored to receive another award as I didn't expect much this time. I am so fortunate to have all the support and care from TAFE NSW staff and teachers, without their help I wouldn't have achieved so much.”

“Studying at TAFE NSW Lidcombe has completely changed me in regards my confidence and attitudes towards tasks that are seemingly too difficult or time consuming.

“The credit goes to the excellent teachers and their enormous efforts to make sure that we work hard and expand our knowledge and gain new skills. I am proud of my achievements in my study areas this year at TAFE NSW Lidcombe, knowing that I have been spoken highly of, among my colleagues and my teachers.

“I have received positive feedback from my teachers as well as my colleagues, which have made me realise that I have chosen the right career for myself and that all my effort and hard work have been rewarded.”

TAFE NSW Regional General Manager, Michael Cullen congratulated Linda Park.

“Congratulations to Linda on winning Vocational Student of the Year, seeing her follow her passion for design and decoration and being recognised for her achievements is very rewarding,” said Mr Cullen.

“This is a wonderful result for TAFE NSW and I have no doubt these winners will go on to be great ambassadors for the region and their industries.

“TAFE NSW plays a critical role, not just in helping our students reach their career ambitions, but also in ensuring that we have a skilled and capable workforce.

The annual Training Services NSW event recognises and rewards the outstanding achievements of vocational students and demonstrates the extent of quality in the vocational education and training sector.

The winners of the Western Sydney & Blue Mountains Regional Training Award will be considered for the NSW Training Awards, which will be held in Sydney this September.
