Nyngan local, Samantha Hicks, chose the perfect time to study a TAFE NSW business services course after recently revealed statistics suggest a 3.6% jobs boom in the technology and business services sector in regional NSW over the next three years.i

Samantha is on the path to success after choosing to upskill at TAFE NSW after her three children had grown. She decided to study a Certificate III in Business Administration and then a Certificate III in Business (Medical) and is now furthering her knowledge in a Certificate IV in Business Administration.

Ms Hicks said “I’ve really enjoyed studying at TAFE NSW to broaden my skills to work in a range of business settings.

“I’ve built solid skills in diary management, Microsoft Office programs and have learnt how to work with various customers and patients.

“Flexibility was really important to me when making the decision to study and TAFE NSW has made it really easy for me, enabling me to work around my children and study when it suits me from home. The teachers are amazing and are only a phone call or email away if I need them.”

TAFE NSW Business Services Teacher, Rosemarie Colosi said Samantha was a fantastic student who was able to combine her TAFE NSW study with the demands of raising a young family.

“She completed all her work in a professional manner with exceptional time management. Samantha is now well equipped with job-ready skills and has a bright future in the business services industry ahead of her.

“The Certificate III in Business Administration is available for the Nyngan community to enrol in for semester one at TAFE NSW.”

Ms Hicks added, “I’m really looking forward to working in the industry, but first I would like to study all that I can, to be the best I can be. Once I complete the Certificate IV in Business Administration I have the Diploma of Business Administration in my sights.”
