The Kenyan kitchen experience

TAFE NSW puts on a Kenyan feast to support a hospital in Kenya.

The Kenyan kitchen experience

TAFE NSW alumni, Verity, got in touch with her old TAFE NSW campus to create a vibrant fundraising event. A feast of Kenyan food, to the sound of Kenyan drumming, to support Kenya Aid.

It was an excellent chance for the hospitality students to get hands-on experience cooking and running a large scale function and, at the same time, do some good for the world.

TAFE NSW head-teacher, Julie Webster, and her students prepared a Kenyan inspired feast for 90 guests to raise $8500 for Kenya Aid.

The money will go towards buying equipment for a hospital in Kenya and building an eco garden which will be used to grow food for the children who are in hospital.
