Never too young for a makeover

Riverina Institute's Young Campus is getting a makeover.

Scheduled to take place over the next 12 months, the makeover will include a brand new simulated hospital for health and aged care students, an early childhood teaching centre and a hairdressing and beauty salon with upgraded equipment.

The objective of the makeover is to create learning facilities that are more targeted and flexible. This will help position Young Campus as a vocational education hub for a large geographic catchment area of the Institute.

"Young Campus will be a crucial part of servicing neighbouring towns such as Boorowa, Harden and smaller centres," Riverina Institute Director, Kerry Penton told theĀ Young Witness. "(It will) provide a leader-feeder model for smaller campuses, bringing more people into the town in addition to becoming a major hub for our connected classroom delivery to more remote communities across the Riverina."

A formal launch of the renovations will take place on 6 April at Young Campus. The project is due for completion in February 2017.
