Three chances for Vinnies to win with TAFE NSW at the Royal Easter Show

Three teams of TAFE NSW landscape gardening students will be competing to enhance a St Vincent de Paul Society facility in Coniston, Bankstown or Mount Druitt.

The teams from Yallah, Padstow and Richmond are competing at this year's Royal Easter Show in the Landscaping Competition, designing and building a landscaping display based on the theme of 'Modern Australian Backyard'.

While the Royal Agricultural Society will pick a winner based on criteria such as design and construction, visitors at the show can vote on their favourite, and this 'people's choice' winner will transform the garden of their local St Vincent de Paul Society facility.

Western Sydney and Illawarra are once again competing, and are this year joined by a team from South Western Sydney's Padstow campus. After voting concludes on Thursday 24 March at the Royal Easter Show, a garden makeover to the value of $10,000 will be awarded to one of the following:

Visitors to the TAFE NSW landscape challenge display at the Royal Easter Show can place a vote in the voting box, and the 'people's choice' winning team will be announced at 2pm on Good Friday, 25 March 2016.

  • The short-term accommodation facility for homeless men in Coniston (if Illawarra's Yallah team wins)
  • The St Jude's Men's Centre at Bankstown (if South Western Sydney's Padstow team wins)
  • The Caroline Chisolm Centre for Social Justice in Mt Druitt (if Western Sydney's Richmond team wins)
