When what you learn is exactly what you love and exactly what employers need, then you’re onto a winner
Dianne has always loved makeup. And that passion is a key career ingredient. But progressing her career from a fledgling freelancer to a seasoned professional also needed education and training that responds to industry needs.
Dianne studied at TAFE NSW while she was still at school. Then she did some freelancing, gained some industry experience and then returned to TAFE NSW to study the Diploma of Screen and Media.
“My technique has improved so much,” she says. “You learn about the different niches of makeup. You’ll learn about beauty, fashion, TV and film, and stage and artistic - so things like prosthetics and special effects.”
