So many TV characters have had to make the move from their country homes in search of success: Penny from The Big Bang Theory, Kenneth the page from 30 Rock, Cam from Modern Family, to name just a few.

But if you think you have to add your name to the list because you want top quality, hands-on training and live outside a major metropolitan city, think again.

Not only does TAFE Digital offer hundreds of practical, cutting-edge courses that can be completed from the comfort of your couch, or wherever your butt is, but TAFE NSW also features Connected Learning Centres across eleven locations throughout regional New South Wales.

Connected learning

Connected Learning Centres (or CLCs) are state-of-the-art facilities that provide local communities with access to digitally-enabled technologies, such as simulations and virtual reality experiences. These technologies enable a greater number of courses to be offered locally, including in-demand courses linked to job outcomes such as web technology, wool classing, event management, early childhood education, cybersecurity, civil construction, agribusiness and information, digital media and technology.

Regional hubs

The benefits of CLCs to local communities are many. Not only do people living remotely not have to travel, or travel as far, to study the courses they want, but rural students with access to CLCs can now stay in their regions, helping to boost local schools and businesses. Educating students as close to home as possible also increases the possibility that those students will find work locally, or even be provided with the skills and knowledge needed to start their own small business within their community.

So far TAFE NSW has built learning centres in Coonabarabran, Glenn Innes, Quirindi, Singleton and Tenterfield in northern New South Wales, Bourke, and Grenfell in the west, and Corowa, Deniliquin, Narranderra, and Bega in the state’s south.
