When deciding to study at TAFE NSW, Aleisa Jelbart wanted to incorporate all the things she was most passionate about.

“I studied an Advanced Diploma of Design for Live Production, Theatre and Events at TAFE NSW. It kind of covered everything I liked,” Aleisa says. “The course included modules in costume design, special effects makeup, film and drawing. It had everything I wanted.

“I loved the practical approach of the course and I loved the people that I worked with, including the teachers!

“Because of the intricacies of costume design, I would definitely recommend study. Then after that it’s all about networking and building up a portfolio.”

Through her TAFE NSW connections, Aleisa was able to start a new career in assistant role at a theatre production company, that provided her with the opportunity to network and jump from role to role.
