Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:
Develop and design RE systems
Repair renewable energy (RE) apparatus
Problem solve in RE systems
Problem solve issues with grid connected photovoltaic (PV) energy apparatus and systems
Install extra low voltage (ELV) PV power apparatus and systems
Gain practical experience and develop specialist skills that give you an advantage in the job market.

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol
A current electrical contractor license or equivalent
Completion of the Statement of Attainment in Solar Grid Connected Systems – Design and Install or its equivalent
To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
An ability to work in confined spaces and at height
A knowledge of First Aid
Adequate fitness and mobility to complete manual tasks
Good organisational skills and the ability to adjust to rapid change
Good mathematical and literacy skills
An ability to see colour

This is a licensed occupation. When you successfully complete the Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, you can apply for your electrical contractor licence with NSW Fair Trading. This licence is mandatory prior to enrolment in this course. It is also required to work in the industry as a qualified electrician. Visit NSW Fair Trading to find out more. Once you have successfully completed this Statement of Attainment, you will be eligible to apply to the Clean Energy Council (CEC) for your provisional Solar Grid-connect Design and Install accreditation (https://www.cleanenergycouncil.org.au/industry/installers/types-of-accreditation). This accreditation is for individuals who want to do both the design and installation of solar systems that are connected to the grid. You must hold an unrestricted electrical license to qualify for this accreditation. Visit the CEC website for more information on how to apply for Clean Energy Council accreditation.
