Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

  • Develop, enter and verify programs for PLCs
    Use ladder diagrams, statement lists and function block diagram instruction sets
    Develop and enter industrial control system programs
    Document program development and test activities
    Install and test programs for an industrial system

Gain practical experience and develop specialist skills that give you an advantage in the job market.

    The technical ability to use PLCs
    Experience using Codesys, a PLC coding language used in industry

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

  • UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace, as evidenced by a copy of your transcript or

    A white card

Entry recommendations

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

  • A background in or exposure to the electrotechnology industry
    The ability to manipulate wires and operate hand tools
    Maths to a Year 10 level
    Intermediate computer skills and some experience coding using Codesys
