Learning Outcomes

Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

  • Safely operate a 4WD vehicle on unsealed roads

  • Use a range of recovery equipment and advanced skills to recover 4WD vehicles in difficult terrain conditions

  • Configure your 4WD depending on terrain and driving conditions

Entry requirements

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

  • A valid Class C driver's licence

  • Your own 4WD vehicle with rated recovery points as evidenced by photos

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

  • An interest in driving and recovering a 4WD vehicle

  • A responsible attitude and a concern for safety

  • The ability to follow instructions

  • The need to obtain qualification for employment or upskilling purposes
