Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

  • Create and modify patterns digitally using Gerber Technology

  • Work with pattern block libraries

  • Conduct grading for fashion garments

  • Create, store and print digital costing markers

  • Determine the fabric yield required for a digital marker

Entry requirements

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

  • Prior workplace experience in either manual or digital pattern-making, as evidenced by a letter from your employer.

  • Or,

  • Successful completion of either one of the following courses: Statement of Attainment in Digital Fashion Pattern Grading, or Statement of Attainment in Fashion Patternmaking, as evidenced by your transcripts.

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

  • A desire to learn more about digital patternmaking

Our graduates go onto roles like: digital patternmaker or digital grader with the Statement of Attainment in Fashion Digital Patternmaking, Grading, and Costing Markers, production room assistant with the Certificate III in Applied Fashion Design and Technology , production room assistant or assistant pattern maker or assistant pattern grader with the Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising (Design and Product Development) and junior pattern maker or junior pattern grader with the Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising.
