Entry recommendations

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

  • A valid driver’s licence or proof of age card to demonstrate that you are over 17 years of age

  • English language skills at a Year 10 or equivalent level

  • Aptitude for working as part of a team

  • The ability to work with people in difficult situations and circumstances

  • Motivation to provide great customer service

Our graduates go onto roles like: gaming machine attendant, bartender, food and beverage attendant and events host.

Licensing

This course includes electives with licensing requirements that are regulated by Liquor and Gaming NSW. RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) and RCG (Responsible Conduct of Gaming) are required for workers in licensed venues in NSW. It's important to note that while you can undertake these units to become job-ready you must be 18 years of age to serve alcohol and work in a gaming venue, and to obtain your competency cards. Recognition of NSW RSA and RCG competency in other jurisdictions Legislative requirements differ across borders. Check with the relevant state or territory authority to see if your NSW RSA and RCG competency is recognised. Visit NSW Fair Trading or your state licensing body.
