Learning Outcomes

Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

  • Assist with dental radiography

  • Comply with infection control

  • Process reusable medical devices

  • Practise and maintain work, health and safety protocols

  • Real-world experience through 250 hours mandatory work pacement in industry

  • Experience of completing of logbooks and projects under supervision

  • Skills to assist a dentist, dental hygienist, dental radiographer, dental prosthetist, dental therapist or oral health therapist

  • Skills and knowledge to work across the dental industry

  • An EPA license depending on whether radiation electives are selected

During your study you’ll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Dental Assisting (Radiography) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 12 Units of competency, including 10 core and 4 speciality units.
