To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
A passion for sharing cultural, historic, artistic or natural information and history
An interest in developing your skills to manage other tour guides
An interest in engaging with and educating a diverse range of people
Confidence in performing public speaking tasks and leading group engagement activities
Adequate fitness and mobility to deliver first aid, like performing 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult and infant manikin on the floor, and to respond to emergency situations
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 12 high school level

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Guiding qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 17 units of competency, including 11 core and 6 speciality units.
Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
