Emergency planning is a framework designed to produce a set of arrangements that provide the basis for preparing and managing the impact of emergencies. This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to manage an emergency planning process. It includes, preparing, developing and refining a plan in a multi-hazard and multi-agency environment and includes working with the community.
Planning for emergencies applies to people responsible for developing emergency management plans within or by local government, emergency services or government agencies and departments, event organisers, utilities, critical infrastructure or high occupancy building and service providers.
It is based on the competency PUAEMR021A Facilitate emergency planning processes.
