Overview

This course provides the skills and knowledge required to identify and respond to the needs of clients who may be experiencing domestic and family violence, including responding to immediate intervention and support needs. Provide support and information to children and young people living in a home where domestic and family violence occurs. Develop an awareness of the potential effects of domestic and family violence on behaviour and development. Be trained in counselling and facilitation skills to explore client issues and identify possible options by providing a safe and supportive environment. It includes encouraging clients to be actively involved in seeking their own solutions. This course applies to individuals whose job role involves working with clients on personal and psychological issues associated with domestic and family violence within established policies, procedures and guidelines.
