Overview

This STCW Sea Safety course provides training to meet the requirements of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), and is suitable for all crew members of an ocean going vessel working offshore or in international waters.

Enrol with Hunter TAFE and develop competency in personal safety and social responsibilities, personal survival techniques, fire prevention and basic firefighting. This course also includes Security Awareness Training (STCW Code Section A-Vl/6para.4).

Practical activities included in this AMSA-approved training include jumping in a pool from 3 metres, righting a life raft, working as a team to control and fight fires, donning immersion suits and learning how to preserve life at sea.
