Overview

Are moving towards a career in the metal fabrication or allied engineering industry, and want to work as a Gas Tungsten Arc Welder? The TAFE NSW Statement of Attainment in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) will get you started by providing you with the skills and training required in this welding profession.

You will learn the GTAW techniques and skills essential to join ferrous and non-ferrous materials in all weld positions, heat, cut and gouge materials, understand engineering drawings and use a range of hand and power tools/equipment to fabricate metal components.

The GTAW Statement of Attainment has been developed to accommodate both off-the-job training and
on-the-job training and experiences. The duration of this course is dependent on the competency unit(s) chosen.

Upon successful completion of this welding course, participants may continue to higher level qualifications within TAFE NSW, to enhance their career opportunities.
