Statement of Attainment in Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk - Initial Training

Course Code: 900-81147

Overview

Initial training is intended for learners who have no prior training or experience in the area of child protection. For example job seekers, school leavers, those wanting a change in career and those who will be working in contact or close proximity to children.
This full unit of competency will give you the knowledge and skills that you will need if you are a Mandatory Reporter in your job role, now or in the future. Mandatory reporting is the legislative requirement for selected classes of people to report suspected child abuse and neglect to government authorities. Participants will learn about relevant legislation, policies and procedures and will gain the knowledge to work ethically to help children and young people at risk.
Understanding your role as a Mandatory Reporter, use of the Mandatory Reporting tool, recognising signs of abuse and neglect are all key components of this program.
