Overview

Would you like to advance your agricultural career with the ability to safely handle and transport chemicals? TAFE NSW's Agricultural Chemical Skill Set will teach you how to prepare, apply and transport liquid and dry chemical formulations such as fertilisers and pesticides. You will learn to securely handle chemicals in accordance with label instructions, Safety Data Sheets (SDS's) and relevant legislation. You will also learn to safely use general agricultural chemical application equipment such as boom sprays, orchard air-blast sprayers, handheld spray equipment, wipers, dry chemical applicators, dips, pour-on, spot-on, vaccination and drenching equipment.

With this skill set you will be able to take responsibility for chemical use in your work role. You will also gain credit towards a number of other qualifications, including certificates in pest control, animal production, horticulture, parks and gardens, conservation and land management, turf management and beekeeping.
