Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learned and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development. In this course you will undertake:

  • Knowledge and skills assessments
  • Pre-course reading and structured knowledge activities
  • Other assessments are made on multiple occasions throughout the face-to-face workshop through observation and verbal questioning

The completion of this Agricultural Chemical Skill Set (AHCSS00074) at the Australian Quality Framework Level 3 (AQF3) allows you to obtain a Chemical Users Licence issued by the NSW Environmental Protection Authority (EPA). This allows for the purchase and application of chemicals without supervision.

You will gain hands-on experience in:

  • the handling, application and transport of chemicals
  • chemical store audits
  • calibration exercises in a workshop and chemical storage facility
  • Using sprayers, wipers and applicators

TAFE NSW is known for delivering theory along with practical, hands-on learning. You will work on real world projects, like:

The course is half theory and half practical in a real or simulated outdoor workplace using chemical spray equipment and safety clothing and accessories.
