The nationally accredited Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology equips you with the skills to become a panel beater and impress clients with your repair and restoration techniques whether it be a 71 HQ Monaro or a modern day SUV.

This is a fully government subsidised JobTrainer course. Eligibility criteria applies.


Through theory and practical course work, you will learn to:

In this course you will undertake:

  • Knowledge assessments
  • Practical skills assessments

The Certificate II in Automotive Body Technology is an entry-level qualification that provides no exposure to simulated or real world. It does not qualify you as a licensed tradesperson, however It does cover your foundational skills and sets you up for success in the Certificate III.

The Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology is an apprentice level qualification, where you will gain all your underpinning experience in panel beating. It provides real world exposure where youll apply what youre learning in simulated and real world environments.

Successful completion of this course will provide eligibility to apply for a tradesperson license as a panel beater, and a pathway into the Certificate IV in Mechanical Technology which allows you to become a master technician.

You will gain hands-on experience in:

  • Repairing damaged vehicles
  • Using alternating vehicle body repair procedures
  • Utilising a variety of hand and power tools
  • Assessing correct procedures for repair
  • Liaising with clients to better understand their needs
