Overview

Do you want the know-how to repair and maintain the body of cars, heavy vehicles and other vehicles? The Certificate III Automotive Body Repair Technology is the place to start.

As well as a range of general repair and operational skills, you will learn all the skills related to panel beating including how to:

  • Follow environmental and sustainability best practice in an automotive workplace

  • Interpret and apply automotive repair instructions

  • Follow safe working practices in an automotive workplace

  • Test, charge and replace batteries and jump-start vehicles

  • Use and maintain panel beater tools and equipment in an automotive workplace

  • Repair vehicle chassis, frame and associated components

  • Remove and store vehicle body components

  • Repair vehicle body misalignment

  • Repair adhesive bonded structural damage on vehicles

  • Inspect vehicle damage and determine repair procedures

  • Apply original equipment manufacturer repair procedures during vehicle repairs

  • Carry out advanced gas metal arc welding, oxyacetylene thermal heating and cutting on vehicle body sections

    You may also be able to choose from elective units, including:

  • Vehicle body repair

  • Vehicle body restoration

  • Heavy vehicle body and chassis repair
