Overview

Take your career to new heights with the Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot – Visual Line of Sight).

This nationally recognised qualification is for those who want to operate remote piloted aircraft systems (RPAS):

- Within visual line of sight (VLOS)
- Below 400 feet above ground level (AGL)
- In day visual meteorological conditions (VMC)
- Outside of controlled airspace
- Greater than 3 nautical miles from an aerodrome
- Outside of populous areas

Our state-of-the-art facilities will give you the practical skills you need to be in demand in this growing industry.

You will learn how to:

- Operate aeronautical radio
- Manage human factors in remote pilot aircraft systems operations
- Manage remote pilot aircraft systems pre and post flight actions
- Control and launch remote pilot aircraft systems
- Control remote pilot aircraft systems, and more!

Remote pilot duties include applying technical and non-technical aviation skills and knowledge within RPAS operational environments.

This is a full-time course which allows for an Australian Traineeships.

Please note: This qualification forms some requirements for certification by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) as described in Civil Aviation Safety Regulation (CASR) Part 101 Division 101.F.3 – Certification of UAV controllers. Civil and military personnel seeking certification as remote pilots should check requirements with CASA. Use for Defence Aviation is to be in accordance with relevant Defence Orders, Instructions, Publications and Regulations.
