People who are successful in this course have:

All assessments in this course are open book, meaning there are no exams.
Each unit has a written knowledge based assessment and one or two practical application assessments. Practical application assessments are often based in the online Virtual Enterprise space that gives you an experience similar to working in a business.
This course, the Certificate II in Business is right for you, if you want to:
- Develop basic computer skills, communication style and experience working with documents
- Refresh or develop your skills to reenter the workforce after a break
- Prepare for your first job in an office environment
The Certificate III is a better fit if you feel confident in using computers to complete basic word documents and spreadsheets and have basic communication skills from life experience.
Depending on your campus location and local partnerships with TAFE NSW, you may have the opportunity to participate in behind-the-scenes excursions.
Youll gain hands-on experience in:
- Touch typing and keyboard skills
- Using different software packages including the Microsoft Office suite
- Working with other people in a business environment
- Using real workplace documents and scenarios
TAFE NSW is known for delivering theory along with practical, hands-on learning. You will work on real world projects, such as developing documentation based on requests from your supervisor within the Virtual Enterprise platform.
TAFE NSW offers you a range of online and on campus study environments - industry specific computer rooms, simulated workplaces, study areas, presentation areas and general student facilities - to enhance your learning and employability. Some campuses offer you a simulated office environment platform called Virtual Enterprise.
