The Certificate III is entry level and provides a good foundation to learn about the sector. Job opportunities are limited for workers at this level however, and are usually junior roles under the direction of others.
The Certificate IV level provides you with the exposure, skills and knowledge to work autonomously across the sector. You may be required to supervise and lead other workers in projects or teams.
You may wish to go onto the Diploma, which will provide you with specialised skills in community services. From here, you will work autonomously as a case worker or case manager under broad direction from senior management. You can enrol in the Diploma directly without completing the Certificate IV, however, the Certificate IV cements your foundation knowledge and sets you up for success in the Diploma.
Your work placement provides you with important on-the-job experience where you will learn what goes on behind the scenes when caring for our community members.
You will gain hands-on experience in:

Youll have access to industry specific computer rooms, studios, study areas, presentation areas and general student facilities available at most TAFE NSW campuses.
