The nationally recognised Certificate III in Roof Tiling is the industry accepted apprenticeship qualification for roof tilers. Learn the skills and knowledge you need to work on a range of domestic, commercial and industrial roof tiling projects, and be eligible to apply for your licence when you graduate.

Through theory and hands-on practical course work, you will learn to:

Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learned and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development. In this course you will undertake:

  • Practical based skills assessments
  • Theory based knowledge assessments

The Certificate III in Roof Tiling gives you the foundational knowledge and skills you need to work in roof tiling.

Recognised and accepted by industry as the apprenticeship qualification for roof tilers, the Certificate III in Roof Tiling provides hands-on experience and real world exposure where youll apply what youre learning on-the-job and in simulated workplace environments.

You will gain hands-on experience:

  • Erecting and dismantling restricted height scaffolding
  • Handling roof tiling materials
  • Using the tools and equipment of the trade
  • Tiling regular and irregular shaped roofs
  • Working safely on roofs

TAFE NSW is known for delivering theory along with practical, hands-on learning. You will work on real world projects, such as:

  • Cutting and fitting different roof tile profiles
  • Cutting and fitting to different shaped roofs
  • Setting out and installing sarking and tile battens

TAFE NSW offers you a range of study environments to enhance your learning and employability, such as:

  • Material and tool equipped workshops for practical skills

This qualification is in a high demand area of building construction and maintenance. There is currently a skill shortage in roof tilers in NSW.
