The nationally accredited Diploma of Property Services (Agency Management) gives you the skills and knowledge needed to lead and manage a real estate agency in NSW. This qualification also fulfills the educational requirement for a Class 1 Real Estate Licence.

INDUSTRY DEMAND

Around 2,550 people are forecast to be employed as real estate agency principals in NSW in 2019/20. This number is expected to grow by 3.5% to 2,640 jobs in 2024/25.

From March 2020, real estate agency principals need to possess a Licensee in Charge (Class 1) licence which requires principals to hold a Diploma qualification (like this one), and take part in annual and continuing professional development.

This course is superseded. You can still enrol in this course, and you will be contacted if you need to transition into the next version when it is available.

Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learned and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development. In this course you will undertake:

  • Knowledge assessments: short answer, extended response, research tasks
  • Practical skills assessments: demonstrations under observation
  • Scenario-based problem solving

This course will be retired in Semester 2, 2021 and replaced with the CPP51119 Diploma of Property (Agency Management).

Students completing the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice should wait to enrol in the new Diploma (CPP51119) rather than this one, as the shared units of competency have changed significantly between versions.

You will gain hands-on experience in:

  • High level negotiation and communication
  • Managing and controlling trust accounts
  • Managing agency finances, budgets and payroll
  • Real estate agency marketing and promotion

In this course you will work on real-world projects, in simulated TAFE NSW environments, such as:

  • Managing a team of sales personnel and administrative staff

  • Contract management relevant to property sales and leasing

You will have access to industry specific computer rooms, studios, study and presentation areas, as well as the general student facilities available at most TAFE NSW campuses.
