If you already have some foundational design skills and knowledge, and you are ready to go full steam ahead, then the Certificate IV in Design is for you.

Versions of this course focus on different career areas. All versions of the course have the same core units, which will teach you to:

  • Devise design solutions
  • Interpret a design brief
  • Integrate colour theory
  • Design processes and more

  • GRAPHIC DESIGN. Get a broad-based, integrated learning experience incorporating various facets of graphic design, including elements and principles, theory and history, typography, and digital and print

  • INTERIOR DESIGN. Learn all the essential skills and knowledge required for further interior design study, including architectural drawing, model making, computer aided design (CAD) and design and architectural history

  • ILLUSTRATION. Develop a range of traditional and digital skills and techniques to work towards a varied and rewarding career as an illustrator

  • DESIGN FOR FILM AND THEATRE. Learn about prop making, digital illustration, make-up and design for screen as well as working collaboratively on a large scale production

  • INDUSTRIAL DESIGN. Develop a range of skills including drawing and workshop model making using a range of materials as part of the design process

  • JEWELLERY DESIGN. Conceptualise, design and create original bespoke jewellery pieces using a range of materials and techniques as well as setting gems and stones

  • FASHION DESIGN. Develop your existing skills in illustration and life drawing, fashion design, CAD specific for fashion practice, as well as a getting comprehensive introduction to fashion industry knowledge and some basic sewing and patternmaking to create a prototy
