Overview

This sound production course is the perfect next step for those students who have already covered the basics of digital recording. You will now cover a broad range of skills required to succeed in the music industry, including:

- Digital and analogue recording consoles
- Music production software and hardware
- Microphones and monitors
- Equipment set up and signal flow
- Recording and mixing
- Basic live audio

You will also cover more advanced aspects of copyright, small business skills and how to express your ideas.

After successfully completing this course, you will be prepared to study at a higher level, such as the Diploma of Music Industry (Sound Production). You may also be able to take on lower level roles in the music industry, depending on your experience and interests.

Note: This course provides a specialisation in Sound Production. Contact your local TAFE NSW if you wish to specialise in Performance or Music Business, or you want a generic (non-specialised) Certificate IV in Music Industry
