Overview
Do you want to design for live theatre performance? This is a live-production industry flagship course.
You will explore specialised technical, creative and conceptual skills that can be used in the film and video industries as well as in dramatic theatre productions, corporate and public events. These skills include:

Storyboarding

Art direction

Stage management

Set dressing

Camera operation

Video production and editing
-
Set design and construction
-
Prop design and puppetry

Costume design and construction

SFX make-up and prosthetics

Event design and management
You will learn in a simulated workplace environments that include: -
Film and video studio

Prop and scenic workshop

Access to the latest computer software
You will also learn to be responsible for planning, coordinating and evaluating the work of others.
Staging for some performances or events may fall within the definition of construction work which means you may have to complete the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (Australian Safety Compensation Council, May 2007). Achievement of the CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry unit from the CPC08 Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package fulfils this requirement.
