Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learned and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development. In this course you will undertake:

  • Knowledge assessments: quizzes, short answer, essay and research tasks
  • Practical skills assessments: portfolio and journal submissions
  • Begin your study with a Certificate III in Design Fundamentals (Visual Arts and Photography) and develop your foundational skills and knowledge for a career in the arts
  • Expand your core capabilities with a Diploma of Visual Arts, and develop a broad knowledge base to inform your practice
  • Further your existing skills and knowledge with an Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts, engage in critical discourse and explore the ways you can practice as a professional visual artist
  • Master your studies with a degree-level qualification like the TAFE NSW Bachelor of Creative Practice, and gain skills, experience and a qualification to help you stand out from the crowd

Depending on your campus location and local partnerships with TAFE NSW, you may have the opportunity to participate in excursions that take you behind the scenes in the arts industry.

Excursions may include visits to museums, regional galleries, artist studios and/or art manufacturers and art supply stores.
