The Undergraduate Certificate in Business Management is a short course for people currently working in business or retail environments who wish to manage a small business or move into management or supervisory roles. Enhance your business skills with 4 subjects covering management and marketing fundamentals, finance and investment and foundations of accounting. If you choose to continue your studies with the Bachelor of Applied Commerce, you will receive recognition of prior learning for 4 of the subjects completed in this course

Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

  • Apply a variety of skills related to business, management, accounting, marketing and finance

Entry requirements

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

You must demonstrate that you have achieved one of the following:

  • A completed certificate IV or higher vocational qualification in business or business management or

  • At least 3 years' experience in a business or retail environment

You must also:

  • Attend a pre-admission interview where you may also be asked to complete a short literacy and numeracy task - this helps us to understand how we can support your study success and provide you with any necessary support

Note:

  • Your certificates, transcripts and other entry requirement evidence must be certified through a Justice of the Peace or other authorising officer

Entry recommendations

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

  • An interest in finance and numbers

  • An interest in helping others

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Good communication and relationship building skills

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • A PC or laptop with good internet connection to access your study materials and complete and submit your assessments. You can access this equipment on a TAFE NSW campus, however we highly recommend you have your own equipment available. Online learning environments are accessible on mobile, but you will need a PC or laptop at times.

You do not require an ATAR score for entry into this course.
