Depending on your campus location and local partnerships with TAFE NSW, you may have the opportunity to participate in excursions that take you behind the scenes in the health industry.

You will gain hands-on experience in a range of clinical placements throughout your course. The aim is to provide insight and experience in different types of nursing.

Through scenario work, you will have the opportunity to practice your skills in responding to and solving the types of problems you will likely encounter in your work placement. An example of a scenario may include carrying out clinical practice with a mannequin, in an industry-standard clinic room, all while managing your time, productivity and patient care. This enables you to experience the same pressures that exist in the workplace and learn how to master them.

Throughout the Diploma of Nursing, you will apply theoretical knowledge to a range of clinical scenarios and simulations. You will work on real world projects that consolidate your learnings, test your patient interview skills and put your analytical skills to work. All projects involve the key principles of nursing practice - assessment planning, implementation and evaluation.

TAFE NSW offers you a range of online and on campus study environments to enhance your learning and employability - industry specific computer rooms, simulated workplaces, study areas, presentation areas and general student facilities.

The simulated workplace reflects authentic working conditions by replicating industry environments, equipment and resources.
