The Certificate IV level course is a comprehensive qualification that equips you to work in the industry independently in the role of a technician. This course is right for you if you have a passion for technology, studied IT related subjects, worked on personal digital projects, or are working in the industry.

This course, the Diploma, builds on your generalist technical skills and ability to think strategically (including analysis and troubleshooting), and is designed to support you to move into supervisory or team leadership roles.

The Advanced Diploma strengthens your skills through increasing complexity. You may also gain credits toward a relevant degree qualification.

Youll gain hands-on experience in:

  • Troubleshooting and providing service support in diagnosing, resolving and repairing hardware and software malfunctions which encompass workstations and communication infrastructure
  • Preparing and maintaining documentation, policies and instructions, and records and details operational procedures and system logs
  • Ensuring that the design of computer sites allows all components to fit together and work properly, and monitoring and adjusting the performance of networks
  • Surveying the current computer site to determine future needs and making recommendations for enhancements
  • Managing ICT projects
