Certificate III in Local Government (Operational Works)

National Course Code: LGA30304

Overview

This course is an operational works course for people who work in local government. You will acquire skills and knowledge to apply discretion and judgement in selecting equipment and services, deciding upon contingency measures and working within known time constraints. You will also learn how to work as part of a team and to communicate with a range of people from both inside and outside of council.

Specifically, the course content is designed to meet the training needs of staff working in parks and gardens, road repairs and maintenance, waste management, water management and similar operational areas. The course allows learners to choose from a range of electives that will be relevant to their job function and needs of the council they are employed by.

If you work in a council and want to do this course, you should discuss it with your workplace trainer/supervisor. If you do not work in a council but want to do this course, speak to a TAFE NSW counsellor at the campus running this course for more information.
